Personal Wealth Clock mashup
Back in 1995 Philip Greenspun created the Bill Gates Personal Wealth Clock, something quite revolutionary at the time. Unfortunately he built the whole thing in Tcl, something not considered revolutionary at this time. I've taken his original design and made several major improvements:
- Changed the font to Tahoma,
- Added my own amassed fortune to the wealth clock calculations,
- Used advanced technology to dynamically create a graph instead of unadorned text,
- In order to more favorably compare myself to Bill Gates, I switched the graph to draw on a logarithmic scale. Unfortunately, I'm still way behind Gates.
- Used the word 'mashup' wherever possible
For future enhancements, I'd like to add Philip Greenspun's own wealth to the wealth clock; unfortunately, I have yet to discover a web service that calculates the street value of an airplane and a helicopter.
